NOISE not music

Even if he did like your noise, it still wouldn't be music. To be music, it has to have a melody. In most of those "songs," there are lyrics but they are just shouted. I suppose maybe it is technically music because of the percussion, but only music in its most primitive form. Music had advanced so much, and then rap came along and corrupted everything...

My music

Well, I don't listen to the radio. Sorry if that makes anybody sad. I listen to classical music--Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Chopin, Faure, Saint-Saens, and all their friends. But not all the time. In fact, I have this weird defect: when I listen to music, I have to pay attention to it 100%. My roommate was playing the radio today and I couldn't concentrate on anything else. So of course when I do have time to just sit and listen, I want to listen to something complex, moving, and meaningful. Words get in the way, unless I'm doing the singing. I just like pure music too much. So most of the time I listen to sweet silence.

Re: My music

I listen to my MIDIs so often that I can't concentrate on the Internet unless something's playing!

Re: My music

Ok i got around to reading this and....while the beatles still rule (and so does The Who ), i have to say, ben, you have the nerdiest taste in music *gasp* (your EXACTLY like my brother, who spends 24/7 on the computer and gets in trouble with school becaues of it :\).     Second off, KoRn isn't trash, nor is rap, or the rap/rock hybrid....but i guess you all wouldn't know since your taste in music sucks...and i doubt half of you people saying its trash haven't even HEARD their music in the first place....     Listen to the new song from Dr. Dre...then listen to the end of days soundtrack (some awsome songs there) and your opinion will *hopefully* change unless your hopeless like ben.

Re: My music

He can still edit your posts... but do try to show at least a little respect for everyone... And as to the whole rap thing, or raprock or whatever... there seems little point to it. Pop music probably peaked in the 60s or 70s, then went downhill... I guess it is music, maybe, since it has the drums... but what's next? Just shouting and profanity without drums and some guitars?

Re: My music

It seems to me that greg blames rap because he can't defend rock.
