Umm... What was this thread about again, apart from sarcasm? Some thing starting with 'p'...?

You know, there are some people on these boards who haven't taken physics, quantum mechanics, or the like. Just pointing that out. Not to say that you shouldn't post things like Hans Moleman's dissertation on pi over there,

Fine okay, infinity doesnt exist. But everything has an equal and opposite, so therefore finity doesnt exist. But if you think about infinty and finity in terms of particle and antiparticle, then if infinity and finity ever mixed, the universe would self-annihilate. Therfore, neither can exist, which begs the question: how are we here? To this there are two answers, 1:we arent, and 2: finity, and infinity do exist.
Therfore pi exists.
I think that proved my point rather well, dont you?

If you didn't get what he was saying, and had nothing to contribute, then why did you bother replying?

I got what CBG was saying, but what I didn't get was what Hans Moleman and Dwarven Sen were saying about pi. I simply thoguht I would try to be a little humorous and make fun of my own ignorance of mathematics.

FREAK RAIN!!!!!!!! O.o

Queen of prolonged unexplained absences and long, loooong car rides.

Well, hullo everyone. As you can see, I don't hang out here muchly anymore. There's a good reason for this. Y'see, I've been hanging out at a different chatboard called Cardboardia. So far, I've been havin' a blast. Not that I don't love the TLA, but the magic of Entmoot is lost on me. So, as soon as TLA ends, so will my existance here, probably.

Who knows though? I might stay. Highly unlikely however. This is a good bye in advance, then. Unless you want to join me and my group of friends at Cardboardia.

Cheers!

You mean the cool song by Don McClean?

Shoofly Pie

pastry crust for 1 crust pie
1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. vegetable shortning (Crisco)
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. hot water
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Line pie pan with pie crust. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and shortning until it becomes course crumbs. Set aside. Dissolve baking soda in hot water, combine with molasses (watch it fizz!). Pour into pie crust. Sprinkle crumb mixture on top. Poke 5 times with fork. Bake at 450 for 10 min., then reduce oven to 350 and bake 30 min. For a gooey bottom, spread some molasses on pie crust before filling. *Homer voice* mmm, gooey pie.

So I guess that's the long answer to what's shufly (shoofly) pie. The short answer: a Pennsylvania Dutch molasses crumb pie.

Does anyone know the coefficient of friction of the american pie?

How long did it take you to figure that out, Cirdan?

You know, this is an interesting thread. Some people are talking about one thing, others are talking about another thing, still others are talking about both; and yet, it's all pi(e).
