I don't think some of the stuff on the Moot is decent(i.e. BoP posts) and other stuff that comes up. But my mom doesn't like LotR as much as me, but enjoyed the movie(she was the one who first suggested it to me and bought me the Hobbit which started my LotR craze). And my dad LOVES it as much as I do. He loves Tolkien because he was Catholic, and he'll let me read anythibg by a Catholic author. He thinks it has religous themes. He saw the movie four times(to my five(WOW!)), and wants to read the books. But I don't think he will because I don't think he ever finished a whole book in his life!

I've tried to get my mom interested in LotR (after all she's a librarian), but it just won't work. I started her out with the Hobbit and she couldn't get into it. Maybe one day I'll try to get her into Fellowship of the Ring. She did see the movie with me, though. She's OK with the 'moot too, so that's cool. I doubt I could get my dad interested in it, though. He just doesn't read novels. Mainly he's too busy. He reads magazines, but I don't think I could get him into LotR.

My parents are pretty good when it comes to LotR. They've both read it, but my mom doesn't remember anything that happened. My dad likes it. He even helped me buy a copy of Unfinished Tales which was really nice because I already had a copy. After someone gave his testimony in school one day about how fantasy lead him to Satan, my mom was "worried about me" for awhile, but that's all over now. My older sister though... she can get annoying.

I'm actually getting to perform as Gandalf in an original adaptation of "The Hobbit"! We have 6 performances, and there's only two weeks of rehearsals left! My parents are fully supportive of my acting career, though they aren't making any effort to understand the story when I try to explain it to them. Oh well, I'm happy as long as I get to be Gandalf the Grey!

My stepdad just had surgery on his ankle. He's had to lay low for about a week now, and asked me if I could lend him "the Hobbit" to read. I happily obliged, and gave him a bookmark for it too. Now, days later, I see it sitting by his bed, with the bookmark on top of the book, and not a single page turned.
