Michigan loved his dad. Alaska has a fair number of Mormons. I'll give you Minnesota and Maine, which are solidly blue states, and the activist republicans are STILL often Mormon, and they permit voter registration day of.

I'm considering making a graph. I'd like to see how many NON-Mormons voted for him.
Please don't bother. I've already had it rubbed in my face this morning with my dad's rejoicing.

I'm not rejoicing, hector. Having worked as a lobbyist (and in heavily Mormon western states) I'm just sensitive about where money is coming from. Actual "grassroots" activism is pretty rare, ime.

Well so much for the Rush Limbaugh effect. What happened to his legions of ditto heads that run out and do whatever he commands? Either theres not as many of them now or theyve actually started thinking for themselves after decades of letting him think for them. And if thats the case well watch out conservatives. Look what damage thinking with an open mind has done for democratic politics.

I think much more likely is the fact that the majority of conservatives don't listen to Rush Limbaugh. 15 Million isn't everyone.

I wanted my candidate to win, but I was in the Romney camp ages before Rush Bimbaugh.

I think talk radio isn't so much an influence as a weathervane...

Well, at least they're communicating.

You vote Democrat...so you were hardly convincing

And I wasn't convinced by all of it either...that's one person's opinion among many.

Anyhow, Dick Morris has been making the rounds saying Romney will drop out soon. He's usually right...

So who does McCain pick for VP?

Huckabee would complement him with the southern base, but movement conservatives don't like him anymore than they like McCain and the moneycons can't stand him. Plus a lot of independents would shy away from putting that guy a heart beat away.

Santorum? Gingrinch? One name I've heard but don't know much about is Minnesota Governor Pawlenty, on the grounds that he's both a conservative and at least a Veep brings his own state (usually).

On the Dem side:

Obama pulled in $32 million in January to Clinton's 13, and most of hers came from big donors who are maxing out.

Hillary just had to put in $5 million of her own money (and while the Clintons are rich, they ain't the Romneys); meanwhile Obama's pulled in $6 million since Super Tuesday.
.

OTOH, a lot of people are predicting this goes all the way to a convention, where superdelegates may end up being the deciders- pass the popcorn; that would be a circus .

Tim Pawlenty has been mentioned, as well as Michael Steele (head of RNC), and North Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford.

There's actually been talk about a Mac/Mitt ticket, but I'm thinking that's quite unlikely.

Ken Starr got me registered as a Democrat. Before that, I was independent. I resented the Republicans spending 9 million dollars investigating dress stains.

You should trust me, I know about people.

Byron York....update on possible Romney pullout?
http://corner.nationalreview.com/pos...M1MDU0YzY4NTQ=

My guess: he'll announce at CPAC that he's withdrawing and supporting the nominee etc...

My spider senses are tingling....

UPDATE: another link http://thepage.time.com/2008/02/07/s...-to-quit-race/

UPDATE: Romney to endorse McCain? If he did, it would be proper revenge on Huckabee, who is getting his just deserts. His "two-man race and we're in it" is going to turn into a one man race real fast.

Sis...only Mormons? Huckabee was WAY behind Mitt in the overall vote.

I just heard the audio of Mitt's speech. Gracious. The audience was obviously saddened.

More on Mike Huckabee: he fought for his strong 3rd place spot by smearing Mitt. Now he has to face (*cough* overstatement *cough*) McCain. I would be very surprised if Mike Huckabee didn't drop out soon himself. He has nobody to hate anymore.

CPAC asks people not to boo McCain, like last year

So Mitt Romney is out eh? *shakes head* I don't understand the American system.
What do you suppose he does with the money he has left from his campaign? Or is that a stupid question?

BWAHAHAHA Sorta. He had a half self-funded campaign. He's extremely rich, so I doubt he's limping to the bank.

Ironically what held back McCain's fundraising was his own stupid piece of legislation.

So many twisted truths in that speech, I don't know where to begin!

Lots of fear-mongering as well. He reminds me of Greg Stillson.

Thank the gods he's out, though I'm sure he'll return.
