of course they will hear you! but since it's so beautiful, they'll just hink it's the person you're singing along with.....me on the other hand...I just write songs for people....that's all little ol LoD does...she just writes songs.......

ummm...I think a freeway is someplace that is free...no tolls ( i also think that it might just be another name for a highway or in face it's just a road that doesn't go to far....I DON"T KNOW>....I don't even drive....lol)

A freeway is a motorway.
A highway, I believe, is a big road with lots of traffic. So I guess you can say freeways are highways.
When I consulted a German dictionary (my Swedish dictionary was of no use), I saw that 'highway' could be translated to 'Landstraße'. That (should) mean 'country road'.
And we all know the German word for freeway; Autobahn

I think electricity came to Paris in the 1880's, so it's likely that they had electric power at the Moulin Rouge 20 years later. The Moulin Rouge was surely a modern place during its time.

They wanted to include in the story, that Zidler needed money because he had spent to much money on electricity. But then the movie would have been longer .....

actually, the Autobahn is technically translated "Motorway" or "superhighway". even though, freeway in German is also Schnellstraße. straße, as you guys prolly already know, is German for street.
Landstraße you are right about: it can mean country road, but it also can mean freeway, road or country lane. it is in fact feminine.
