Anyway, since Wayfarer has shown neither hide nor hair of himself to give an explanation, what say we write it off for now, and discuss something even more heinous? Is christianity a victimless crime?

No, it isn't a victimless crime - many people have died because of it. Even you-know-who.

If you're referring to Jesus (and correct my stupidity if I'm wrong), he didn't die because or for Christianity, because it, in essence, didn't exist yet.

Ah, but the idea of Christianity did exist. And he did die for it, because it was what he lived for and strived to tell the world about. Therefore, as a price, he died for his "ideas" of Christianity because a lot of people didn't like hearing about it.

If he didn't go around preaching his ideas of Christianity, he wouldn't have been murdered. So all in all, he died because of Christianity.

relgion in genral is the greatest evil in all of the world. It has done nothing but cause suffering the world over i hate relgion it is a pestelance upon the world and people need to wake up and realise this.

While I completely agree with you that religion is a nasty piece of work, I have to disagree on a minor technicality. It is after all, the stupid humans that run it, that makes it the bigotted institution that it is, not necessarily the ideological system itself. Following your argument, I'd place the blame on the humans, not the belief system.... it started out nice enough; peace, and tolerance, and goodwill.

But shouldnt we judge relgion for what it is today. I think it just teaches people to be diffrent on a whole new level. Forget race and colour relgion teaches belifes and that dangerous because they run deep in people.

the practitioner of relgion are not the best as well. i see them on the sunday morning programs often mouthing off about certian things and you are just you are a complete ****** which i think is another problem inhent in the system.

We shouldn't take religion seriously at all. Just consider the Taliban. They take their religion very seriously and look what it drove them to do.

I think religion, in a way, is a crime. But certainly not a victimless one. People have been dying for years because of it: so called witches, apparent sinners, anyone who spoke against what the ruler declared true, etc. The bad things that came from it don't really balance out with the good things it has brought.

Look what is happening in israel and palestine! I think that the religion question is hard though, because for a lot of people who are religious, it's something very meaningful in their lives, and I suppose you could say they benefit from it, and they aren't hurting anyone. On the other hand there are all the examples that people have already said. I personally don't agree with religion, I think it is for lack of better words, stupid. I think religion does its most harm when it is allowed to be part of the government.

I know that the whole prostitution/drug thing has sort of exhausted itself, but my two cents- I don't think that prostitution is ok. No girl ever grows up wanting to be a prostitute. I also don't think people doing drugs is ever ok. They do so much harm to themselves (and possibly others) of course doing drugs is usually indicative of other problems, as is prostitution.

I think most women who are prostitutes do it because they couldn't find any other option, no one would hire them, and reasons like that. I don't think any of them enjoy it, but who knows - there are a few who probably do.

There are women (and men!) who have other options but are prostitutes because of all the money they make of it. And there are women who enjoy taking part in porn films because they get a kick out of being filmed or pictured. But I agree that most prostitute women are victims of thier circumstances.
