today in the paper someone suggsted that since france and germany don't support us, that we should boycott all of thier products.

I don't think it's fair to automatically assume he's being sarcastic. You've had your differences, and he has (as I see it) expressed something less than fondness for America. This doesn't mean that he is necessarily being sarcastic. It doesn't mean that he is a bad person. It means that you have different views.

(JD, please don't see this as aggressive, or anti-you. My opinion of you is the same as always, and that is quite high.)

JD: While I by no means think that was your intent, you said things which could be seen as "snide remarks" about Coney and LT, before Coney said anything about you.

I say that they could be seen as snide remarks, because I knwo you (to some extent): while I know that you are not perfect (who is?) and in all likelihood could make snide remarks, from my (imperfect) knowledge of you, I would say that they do not seem like things which you would intend as snide remarks.

I said them to LT - in response to her post. Did you read her post. That came out of no where. I never even talked to her. She just has a problem with my beliefs on things. As for Coney - Coney is always making snide remarks.

But if we are going on this particular situation, he wasn't saying snide remarks (while he does seem to make snide remarks [with my even less perfect knowledge of him], I think that "always", even in the sense of very often, is an exaggeration. He mostly seems to me to just have a good time. ) before you said things would could be understood to be snide remarks.

The small print comments are, I think, (as always with little real knowledge of Coney as a person) almost all of the time just little side-notes on a subject. Mostly, they are merely humorous observations; while some could be seen as snide remarks (and some, with to me with my IPK, seem to me to be snide remarks), I think that most are meant to cause no offense, or merely as expression's of Coney's humorous side, without which the Entmoot definitely wouldn't be the same.
