Harry Turtledove--Alternate WW2 scenarios

Harry Turtledove has been deemed one of the best alternate history writers of all time, and I have read two of his books, Darkness Descending and Into the Darkness. These books are about WW2 if it happened in a fantasy world where magic worked. I was wondering how many of you have read it, and what you think of the series. (Just for the records, there are MANY more books scheduled to come out for this series, and each book is pretty long, around 500+ pgs.)

Re: Harry Turtledove--Alternate WW2 scenarios

Well I'm currently in the middle of his "Worldwar" series, where aliens attack in the middle of WWII, forcing the Axis and Allies to band together. It's pretty good. I didn't know he had any more books about WWII.

I've also read "The Guns of the South."

If I'm correct, he has many more alternate history books--although I don't see how even the combined forces of the Axis&Allies could rout space-faring aliens...

The books sound interesting, maybe I'll get them someday.

I'm re-reading the third book in the first quartet of the World War-series and I think the scenario, although far-out, is a fascinating read.

James P. Hogan has a book on an alternate WWII senario, but here's the twist it involves time travel and alternate time lines. The book is
'The Proteus Operation'.

It's been demonstrated to them over an over that serfdom is an archaic, inefficent institution, but they maintain it anyway--largely at the connivance of the serfs thmselves. Astellian nobles don't exert themselves in any way, so they have no concept of human endurance. The serfs take advantage of that outrageously. Astellian serfs have been known to collapse from sheer exhauston at the very mention of such unpleasant words as 'reaping' or 'digging'."
