He probably would have been corrupted by the evil of the ring, overthrown Sauron for good, and become the new Dark Lord.

I think that, since the One Ring wanted to go back to Sauron anyway, it would've corrupted one of his weaker generals to steal it or assassinate him for it and turn into a Ringwraith who would bring it back to Mordor or Mirkwood.

I agree w/ that.
