An interview

I'm pleased to announce that J.W. Braun's LoTR Fan site has posted an interview with me. It's nice to be interviewed by anyone, but the interest and support I've received from fellow Tolkien fans for my writing through the years has always been great.

I've had a link to J.W.'s site at Suite101's Tolkien/Middle-earth topic for some time. I definitely recommend people check it out for the interesting content J.W. posts there, and not just for the interview with Michael Martinez.

The main site is located at:
http://www.angelfire.com/film/rings

The interview is here:
http://www.angelfire.com/film/rings/...s/michael.html

Thanks to J.W.!

I'm not sure of what the announcement would be advertising, except a Web site I don't control and have no real connection with. I don't think there are any links for buying the book there. I just thought people here would be interested in the interview.

Darth, I'm not sure about giveaways. Right now, I've promised a couple of free copies which I don't yet have to give, so I'm not ready to offer any more.

Understood. Let us know if you want any help with anything though. And right a real (non humorous) essay on Gandalf already!

It's hard to find anything to say about Gandalf which isn't immediately obvious to most readers. Of course, it always helps when people ask me questions which are hard to answer.

What about where he's from? I mean I know what he is, but his history before LOTR seems so vague!!!!!!!

But there is a reason for why it seems so vague.

I can write fan fiction, but so can everyone else. "Dear Gandalf ..." acknowledges the fact that we have to fill in the gaps ourselves.

Speculation may seem authoritative if it can box itself in with facts, but Gandalf's past is pretty much an open book.

There is just nothing buried in The History of Middle-earth which really lends itself to figuring out where Gandalf went or what he did prior to his first journey to Dol Guldur.

Oh come on, there must be SOMETHING Christopher has yet to publish that gives us at least a glimpse at pre-LOTR Gandalf! Dear Gandalf just pissed me off, I came away with more questions then answers! Hrmm, maybe that's why Memento didn't win the Oscar. Ok I'm getting side tracked again. Stoopid brain.

Tristan is in a mood. He's mad about the Pink & Purple Day. I am sorry about your house though. I hope everything is okay.

I think people who don't read beyond LOTR relly get how hard it must have been to be Gandalf. Constabtly longing for Valinor must have been a challenge to say the least.

er yeah..don't mind me....
About advertising, I suppose it is. We've closed threads for advertising for sites like that before. Even if you are just sharing a cool link. But as i've said before, i'm not in a thread closing mood, and everyone loves you Anyways, welcome back to the moot...
