My Top 3 Movies of 2001

This seems right...although I may have forgotten some movies I've seen this year...

3. A Beautiful Mind
-A great film with a great performance by Russel Crowe.

2. Momento
-Awsome. Plot twists all over the place, each one better than the next, and a very original and well done way of telling the story.

*drumroll*

1. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
-I finished the book just in time, and I loved both. I want to see it again and get it on DVD. I also can't wait for the next two as I just started The Two Towers.

I wasn't planning to compile a list until I'd seen a whole bunch of movies I haven't, such as Gosford Park, In The Bedroom, Black Hawk Down and The Man Who Wasn't There, but here's mine as it stands:

(neither a "best" or "favourite" list, more of a combination of the two)

10. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
9. A Beautiful Mind
8. Mulholland Drive
7. A.I. Artificial Intelligence
6. Monsters, Inc.
5. Amelie
4. Memento
3. Shrek
2. Moulin Rouge!
1. The Fellowship of the Ring

Wow, ten films that actually deserve to be on a list like this... last year I could only come up with five (Crouching Tiger, Gladiator, Almost Famous, Chicken Run and Requiem For A Dream)

Full explanations some other time, when I'm not feeling so lazy.

Ah, I forgot some. Honorable mentions to:

A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Shrek
Harry Potter

And I'm gonna be seeing Royal Tannenbaums tonight, which seems to be a love it or hate it movie, it might become an honorable mention.

And last year was so bad that I didn't even bother with a my Top 3.

No you didn't greg . You finished the book after you saw it.

I hope you've finished Lord of the Rings by now Greg and are on your way into the Silmarillion. And you call yourself an entmoot admin.

Go Memento! What a great movie. Definitely Memento and FotR as my top two of the year.
