LotR opens in April????

I just heard this rumour that Fellowship of the Ring might be opening in April 2001 instead of December 2001, anyone know anything about this?

Haven't heard anything about that. But I haven't gotten to TolkienOnline or TORN today. As far as I know, they're still set for December.

I really doubt this is true, I'm pretty sure studio execs have more confidence in this film than to open it in the movie duldrums of April. May maybe, but no way in April.

I heard that from a friend of mine who knows more Tolkien trivia than I do. I didn't think there was anyway they could have it done, completely done, that soon, so I didn't take it for truth. And I hadn't heard it from anyother source.

I checked at TolkienOnline and TORN right after posting. Nothing on this there.

April 2001 is an ancient date that had once been announced as a tentative release time.

Ah, I see. I was wondering how December could turn into April. When in reality it was April that turned into December...and someone went into denial.

"The Fellowship of the Ring" is scheduled for world-wide release on December 14, 2001, but will be shown on dozens of United States college campuses sometime in advance of that date.

i'm prevented about the news of that site, not because MM is not well informed, but because he enjoys making jokes and i always fall in them <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

anyway, i'm begining to make some savings for the case this rumor may be confirmed
