I always thought that Elves were considered "wonderful" simply because most of them were pretty, not because they had some supernatural treats.
If you had a bunch of beautiful-looking humans crowd somewhere, then humans would magically come off as an elven-fair race as well.

The characteristics and appearance of elves doesn't matter to me. I'm still extremely obsessed with them. I have elf envy!!
