Ok, this thread is going to be stretching the "general" in general messages, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm writing a report on Guam - it's an island somewhere in the pacific, I think- and I wondered if anybody on the Moot knew anything about it. You guys are inteeligent, so I thought maybe I'd learn something. I am doing this, btw, because I hate textbooks with all my heart and soul, and much prefer talking to ppl.

Folkies who live there or whatever . . . please forgive my ignorance! At least I want to learn . . . *cowers*

Well, guam is derived from a rubbery product called chicle, which is extracted from trees in South America. It is processed and flavored with fruit or mint varieties, and comes in several different types: Chewing, bubble, and Asper.
