Who likes yo yos?

I was on the way home...and had to stop at a local drugstore to pick up a few things and there, hanging on a display, were some Duncan yo yos.
Then I started remembering...my father taught me how to yo yo way back to the time he had to cut the string because I was to short.

I bought one thinking...I can teach my daughter. I started showing her the few tricks I knew(had not lost my touch)...she was not real interested..."can I do it from the couch?"
This got me thinking...I wonder if yo yos have improved any since I was a kid....YES THEY HAVE!!!
I did a search and was amazed at the # of yo yo sites...they now have bearings and transaxles....Duncan even has a yo yo that costs 400 BUCKS!
I ordered one of the new bearing style ones...(not the $400 one) . I am like a kid again waiting for my new yo yo to arrive!
Anyone else like em'?

Yo Yo's are great, im crap and cant do anything, but hand me a yo yo and ill just spin it up and down for hours. the ones with the bearing and the internal contraptions are awesome, they come up quicker and you can have the spinning bit stay spinning at the end of the string for ages until you do a little flick and it comes flying back up...

My sister (Moondancer) was into yo-yos for a while, and I think she had three or four. One was a normal yoyo, another was meant for tricks that involved "sleeping" (you know, where you flick the yoyo down and make it stay spinning, but at the end of the line), and I'm not sure what the other two were for .

I did a bit with yoyos, but I was never as good with the tricks as she was (probably because I was a year younger ).

*has fond memories of jo-jo's*

I couldn't do the slightest trick, mind you. But there was something irresistable about just spinning one, letting it spin out, rewinding it and start again. I wonder what happened to my old jo-jo. I remember it was red and had reflectors at the sides.

Ooooo...yoyos! I really liked to borrow my brother's trick yoyo...and the older style wooden ones are pretty cool, too. I wish I had one, again.

The flashing lights were so cool...I always tried to do the tricks, but most of the time just tangled the string....then I found myself a hackysack and fared much better.

Wow! That's some fancy yo-yo. I'm assuming you're a yo-yo pro and can do some pretty amazing tricks with it.
