Requiem for a dream
Anyone seen this movie? A real shocker...long time since I saw it now, and it still has an effect me.
The music was used in an edited version in the trailer for The Two Towers.

I just saw it for the second time, it´s really gruesom. I have the soundtrack, and whenever I listen to it I get chills. The music is good, but it reminds me of the film.

There are a couple of reviews on IMDB, I'd suggest reading them: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0180093/
It's about drugs, really well-made and on the same time really disturbing and creepy.

Well, it's not so much about drugs as it is about addiction. You've got the main characters also addicted to television, food, sex, sunshine, approval from others, etc. In the end, there is only one addiction that the film (and the book) really cares about, and to which all the others are secondary: all of the characters are addicted to hope. Everything else the individuals go through is simply to attain their hopes and dreams, and they are so blinded by hope they don't see how their other addictions, which are all simply a means to an end, are destroying any chance they have of attaining their dreams.
The film might not be everyone's cup of tea, as it is very graphic and disturbing, but I think everyone should see it at least once, because everyone is addicted to hope. Besides, it is a beautiful film with the most amazing cinimatography and acting I've seen in years.
