I was thinking about impeachment... and then wondering how the Minister for Magic is chosen. There's no sign of him being elected, is there? No one says "Fudge is an idiot, glad I never voted for him", for example. If he's not elected, he must be appointed, but by who? There's no President or other Head of State. Any ideas?

Maybe the British Queen is aware of the magical world and picks the Minister

Hmm..possible...Can't somehow see the queen talking to Cornelius..but a possibility..
I don't want Fudge to die..just for something exeedingly nasty (and hopefully embarassing) to happen to him
