Has anyone read Elvenbane by Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey? I am staring to read them and they are really good!!!

Elvenbane is when the world was run by the elvenlords. Powerful,proud, secure in there dominion over the humans and halfbreeds. They built beautiful cities and used slaves for entertainment and took thier pleasure with Elven or human concubines. Serina Daeth, formerly the favored human concubine of Elvenlord Dyran was driven into the desert when he found out of her pregnancy, as planned by a jealous rival, she dreams as she dies that someone his delivering her baby. Though it is not a dream, the shapechanged dragon shaman Alara is providing out of mercy midwifery as a human. Alara, herself also about to give birth, takes pity on the babe and with her son Keman, raises the girl, Shana. Shana full of her own bright dreams or the future little realizes the love, betrayal, wizardry, and adventure that lie ahead or her. For her story is a legend, the true myth and history of the Elvenbane.

Im a freshman too. I read all three of the series and am waiting (not too patiently) for the next one. They are really good. Valyn died tho
