Bravery?

What is bravery to you and what does it mean to you?

i tend to lean towards Platos ideas about things like courage and bravery and justice etc, that is that there is a form of bravery and that most things people call bravery are just a flawed image of this form of bravery... not meritless but never perfect...

Bravery is often confused with being honorable I think. bravery to me is risking something and anything for a greater cause. Or standing up against odds. What bravery does not mean to me is doing something for an alterior motive, such as to uphold one's honor, or for money. The act done must directly relate to the cause.

I always thought that bravery or courage or whatever you wanted to call it meant sticking your neck out when you felt too scared to do so. It's not an effort if you would have done it anyway.

Yes, bravery (IMO) is doing something you are very afraid to do, because you know you should. It could be something silly, or something very important, but if you don't want to do it, yet realize you really, really should (for whatever reason) then you are being brave.

Bravery is admitting you're terrified and doing it anyway. If you're getting paid or being pushed it doesn't count. If you're doing it for the honor....it can still count but only if you remember to be humble later.

Bravery is being afraid, watching everyone run away, and doing what feels right and what no one else will do.

(Example: Firefighters in Sept. 11th)

Bravery is doing something you know you'll regret and doing it anway. And that's from personal experience.

Bravery is being scared sh**less, but charging forward any way (in any situation).

I haven't been very brave until the past year of my life. You just decide to go through with something, to do something, or whatever the case, even though you're falling apart inside at the idea of it. Bravery is essentially being a coward inside, but choosing not to give up regardless.
