I finally got a job after looking for about 6 months. It's a 2-shift job in which I will be working 06.00 - 18.00 some days and 18.00 - 06.00 on some and sometimes a couple of days inbetween shifts. It will be pretty tough in the beginning but I guess I'll get used to it. I'll earn about $1100 after taxes which is pretty good when compared to the salary I had on my other jobs (between $750 and $900).

Congratulations, you can now pay your ISP bill.... er, what is it we're supposed to post in this thread?

I worked shifts for a number of years, it pays the bills but ultimately it sucks ass, see if you can get a job on normal hours when the opportunity arises. That way you can get stuck inthe rush hour with everyone else!

The reason I called it "hope and glory" was that I am "gloriously" happy that I finally got a job after calling and writing to a hundred employers and the hundreth one didn't dash my hope. Yeah, I am a bit apprehensive about working a two (twelve hour) shift job but I'm hoping that I'll cope. They do have people who work 8-hour shifts (6-14, 14-22) so perhaps I'll be allowed join them later on.
