New Game
Since we already have a movie quote game and, judging by some of the posts, the name game is losing its appeal, how about a book quote game. Sort of the same rules as for the movie quote one, but instead using spoken lines from any book. By spoken lines, an actual quote by a character in the book, not just a line at random from the book. Bonus if you can also name the character who said it.
Any takers? If so, I have a fairly easy one for starters. I know that some of you here, at least, like this book, so it should not be entirely unfamiliar. Quote:

Re: New Game
I'll take a stab.....Is it Watership Down? I am not familar with the quote, but it seemed appropriate....especially since that is what I am reading right now.

Re: New Game
This might be off subject, but was Watership Down a good book? What was it about. I have to read it for summer reading, and it looks kinda boring.

Re: New Game
actually, it is quite good, though I agree that it looks dull on the surface. I'll bet you will like it. These are characters that you really end up caring about. Great read!
Just don't give up if it takes a chapter or two to grab you. And pay pretty good attention to the information that you get from Fiver along the way I hope that you enjoy it very much |

Re: New Game
Watership Down: There is an animated movie based on it... But do read the book first!

Re: New Game
Amen to that, Juntel
The movie is good, and fairly true to the book, but there are alterations there and some of them will be rather jarring if you see the movie first and then wonder what happened to the scene when you get to the book. And there are also a few little details that will really make no sense to you if you have not read the book (the opening scene of the movie is a fine example of this point), since they are really not explained later. I saw the movie first as a kid and there were parts that I just didn't get until I had the book in hand. Of course, then it all falls into place. |

Re: New Game
Greg, you have to read it too? Jae (i'm sure you know) has to read it also and he got me to read it again. Funny, I don't remember anything about it. It is like I am reading it for the first time. I don't understand how I could forget a book that is so great! You know, it makes me as jumpy as a rabbit....what a page turner!

Re: New Game
I have to read it too. And technically, Jae doesn't have to read it. It's only for people in Honors English and he didn't get in . He just wants to somehow get in once he gets to high school and it would probably help if he's already read the required reading

This one is driving me clean around the bend!
I KNOW that I have heard this one, and not that long ago, either, but I simply cannot drag the reference to mind. I am going to feel like a class-A boob when I hear the answer too, I just know it. |
