Communist Bird-People

I know in my fantasy world there will be a race of communist bird-people. They will have over 25 gods (one for each type of wind and cloud), the males will wear the 'make-up', and they mate for life, their tie only being recognized by a ritual done in the fall.
They will live in a very tall aerie (inspired by a hotel), with housing, food, jobs and wealth distributed equally among them.
They mainly make their living being a middleman in trade, because they fly.

That sounds interesting. Are they human-size or bird-sized? I always think aliens are more interesting if they're the same size as us, for some reason.

They're human-sized. Wouldn't be much fun if they were bird-sized, they'd be mistaken for wind faeries or something.

These are a few of my favourite things, the hypocritical stylings of the most "liberal" groups.
