Realtionships are not so much about hard work as in things falling together. what ive managed to keep with vita is a good balance! My sis with her ex didnt like each other friends so they made new 'couple friends' but of course you cannot put off your mates. Thankfully me and Vita have grown up round the same people and we are all mates.....its great!

i think shared experiences really help a realationship and you know if it works it works if it dont it dont the best thing i can say ive never ever had to work with vita

I don't think you should have to do every little thing together. I think people should be allowed their own private space if they need it. But then, you shouldn't go out of your way to exclude your significant other either. Like Sween says, its a balance. You have to be friends first, lovers next.

Funny, the moment I'd given up entirely on looking for someone, a "relationship" just about fell from the sky...

And it's also lovely when you're both looking for the same kind of deal. In my case: tres casual, we don't want anything serious, more friends than anything else really. Yeah. *grin*

I don't think, personally, I'd want a serious relationship for quite a few more years. Can't handle that. And furthermore, I need space, I'm awful at sharing--roommates I can handle (unless you want to bring someone back to your room, then it's annoying!

)but nothing more for a while yet, methinks. And I'm saying all this "I" stuff so as to avoid making broad, generalizing statements, because everyone tends to be different, really. But for something general, I think communication is really important. Make everything clear from the beginning, that sort of thing. State what you want out of the relationship, etc, make sure the other person doesn't expect more than they'll get, and so on and so forth. I think that's really important, so nobody gets hurt, at least too much.
