Luck

I was reading some past threads and someone said "luck" quite a few times add that to my wierd desire to post I have a question for everyone... Does luck exist? What is luck? A man made concept or is it something but we just percieve it as the wrong thing.

Statistically? No.

Realistically? Try telling that to someone who's had a really unlucky day!

sometimes we have really unlucky times... At least it's usually only Murphy's law...

What I mean is that, we think It's being unlucky, but statistics predicts it would happen. Like when you always take the wrong line at the supermarket. It's just normal that one of the two line beside you goes faster, there is a 2/3 probability that it happen, as each one of the three line has only 1/3 chance of being the fastest.

Right... I think so its merely a misinretpitation, whereas really luck is gettin the thing that is improbable yet a possibiltity. Like if you shoot a basketball from mid court someone could say it is a lucky shot but in reality its not you were aiming for the basket and there was a chance of u succeding and u simply did

Sometimes incomprehensible things happen which we cannot explain rationally. I guess luck is a word which helps us to name these events.

I don't believe in luck. I think our lives are very complex, and many things happen without any reason, or with a very good reason, because of the choices of other people or the blessings of God. There are occasions, like if you're playing a dice game, when the results are better for one person, but usually this is statistically feasible. Mostly, I think we use the word "luck" without meaning it; if something was "lucky" or "fortunate", it just means we're happy that it happened.

Eleanor--how is luck more improbable than blessings of God are?

The fact that luck doesn't exist makes it more improbable then God's blessings which do.

How do you know God's blessings exist? How do you know God exists?

*sig* I dont really feel like arging about it, sorry but when i made that previous post I wasn't in a good mood and I didn't really think about it, I didnt mean to say anything contreversial, ur right its what I believe ur entitled to what u believe.
