Of course elrond, galadriel etc are older and wiser than him.Legolas isn't the most beloved elf..but he could be the most loved elf. I still think there are too many anti-legolas people in the entmoot!

I would.

Legolas is merry and playful, but serious enough when the situation calls for it. He's got plenty of charm, which Elrond IMO has not, or he doesn't reveal it to us (readers). And I bet he sings far better than Elrond, too

Legolas is also a loyal friend, which he proves both to Aragorn and Gimli.

His part in the book was perhaps a lesser one, but boring - no no, not to me.

It's just a backlash from all the Legolas fangirls.

Nobody would dislike book Legolas, because he is (as others had said) brave and loyal and joyful.

Rethinking... hmm...ok, it isn't that I'm anti-legolas. I liked the part where he takes up for Gimli against the Rohirim. But he's like a sandwich without anything between the bread. Not much to sink your teeth into as far as a character. This is in comparison with all the other characters in all the other books, be they Hobbit, Human, Elf, Ent, Dwarf, etc.
