Otherwise I'm okay with Val's and the admins'/mods' rules. I just wonder if anyone will be eager to campaign in two years, when there are no upcoming presidential elections in the US? The primaries are what sparked the Entmoot elections back in 2000, 2004 and this year. I doubt the midterm elections in 2010 will generate the same enthusiasm...

Actually, by that time, people will be lining up early to make a move for the 2012 Presidential race. We also have congressional (and state, local, etc) races in those 'off' years. Maybe some of that will generate some sympathetic Entmoot campaigning.

My Fellow Mootians,

I stand before you today, offering my deepest gratitude. I also want to congratulate the two winners of the recent election, co-presidents Sasquatch of Fangorn, and frmr Vice President Nurvingiel. Both these Mooters will serve you well.

Time has passed since you first elected me as your second President of Entmoot. Trials and tribulations have occured that may have tarnished your image of me. I am here to address those concerns.

I want to deal with the issue of corruption. My enemies in the media have suggested that I took bribes from several prominent and rich corporate leaders in exchange for free vacations. I assure you that this is not true. For one, I hate vacations. Two, why would I want to vacation anywhere away from my beloved Entmoot? And three, there are no corporations in Entmoot, and therefore no corporate leaders to bribe me. As I have shown, my enemies are all liars who should be jailed immediately! But I digress...

I also want to address the issue of incompetence. A lot of people are saying that I haven't done anything for Entmoot, and that my presidency is the worst since HOBBIT's. First, this is unfair to HOBBIT. Secondly, how dare they?! I fixed MootCare so that all Mooters got proper health coverage. I fixed the problem (with the help of General Sane) of Mirkwood elves attempting to take over Fangorn. I steered us clear of a disaster from CoffeeHouse Emissions that were destroying the treetops. If my administration officials were often involved in chocolate-cache scandals, my own integrity was so strong as to off-set ANY wrong-doing that others participated in. If certain unnamed moderators or administrators were found to be dealing in illegal frog-smuggling activities, my own conscience was clear. I fought for goodness!

Whatever the small details of scandals that the media love to publish, my administration oversaw record growth for Our Beloved Entmoot. Trees are growing, the grass is greener, and the water streams and ponds are free of contamination, thanks to mine and my VP's policies. Employment is up, and bandits are on the run thanks to General Sane.

So as we look forward to more and more progress under presidents Sasquatch and Nurvingiel, let's keep perspective of just who started us on this good path: Moi.
