There were certainly two Dragons to come that JRRT wouldn't have wanted to eliminate: Beowulf's Bane and Sigurd's dragon. He regarded them most highly. But, as for Balrogs, since there were only seven, and we know for certain of the death of three: Gothmog, Durin's Bane, and the one Glorfindel killed. What are the odds that the other four suvived the Host of the Valar?
