Procrastination Thread

I've been meaning to start this thread for some time... but just never got around to it.

I've noticed that many other 'mooters, as well as myself, seem to feel like they have a problem with procrastinating. I thought we should have a thread to talk about it. There was more I wanted to say, but I'll try to get back and post it later.

So, if you have something good to say about procrastination yourself, please post it here... just as soon as you get around to it.

I think there is another thread on this. Perhaps 3 or 4 years ago...

I'll look for it later

Oops! Sorry about that. I really MEANT to do a 'search' for it, but didn't get to it.

I guess nobody else has had a chance to post here yet. I hope they do it soon, because I'm a little afraid someone will come along and close this sooner or later.

I think I may have started one in my previous incarnation, but it lost interest.

My idea was to have a thread where you can go and confess to what you should have been doing instead of Mooting.

Right now, I should be going home, so I'm not going to procrastinate on that!

Night night

I'm getting better about staying off the net more, and when Ido get on, Iappreciate the time I spend on it [the net].
I'm usually supposed to actually be washing dishes right now actually...

Hector, if you've got a pet (a large-breed dog is especially good for this), just hand over the dishes to it and I guarantee, you'll never be able to tell they were ever dirty....

Oh, yeah. That's why I'm here...

Actually, I'm procrastinating because I have a huge document to type or rather re-type. One of my bosses made me look for another document while I was typing this one and I accidentally forgot to save my changes to the work in progress. Because he was driving me to distraction (his usual MO -- he can't help it -- he's a Saggitarius...), I closed the wrong window in my word processing program and *poof* -- disappearing document!

Now, I gotta start over or my other boss will be mad that the document isn't ready...

I can't win

Is procrastinating now...not doing the dreaded term paper!

And we let our dog lick off the dishes before they go in the dishwasher--conserves water too!

And dogs are so great for cleaning up spills on the floor!

I have a procrastination line in my sig - but I'm actually caught up on laundry right now. On the other hand, the Easter decorations are still not put away ...

They've unenrolled me at uni, because I haven't paid my fees, and I'm procrastinating sorting out my student loan so that I can pay them.

Being homeschooled, it isn't uncommon for me to have to worry about procrastination. I can read this fantasy book. My schedule is in my own hands. But then the knowledge comes back to me, the fearful burden of knowledge that my schedule has to be fulfilled, one way or another. So I make myself do school. Most of the time :/.

On the other hand, I have a much bigger problem with procrastination when it comes to chores. Doing dishes, laundry, cooking meat for the chili on Tuesdays, getting off the computer to eat supper on time. I'm told to do one thing, and I say, "yes, right," and then I accomplish what I agreed to do about 1/3 of the time, perhaps. Not good.

Am currently procrastinating my tax return. THis is particularly stupid because they'll probably be charging me interest.

Still, maybe they can buy an extra textbook for a school with it.

I have quite a lot of work I should be doing. Like now, being at school I should really be doing what the teacher just told me to do...should....

Well, now I'm at work again. I still have six pages of a lengthy document to type and I don't want to get started...

I assume that is the purpose of this thread...?????

....Work avoidance....?????
