The Two Towers MUD
Anyone else play t2t? I know Ryan does. My character there, Ben, is over 3 years old, but I rarely play any more. It got a little boring, but it's still the best Tolkien-related MUD out there

Yup :P I assume I'm still a member... I've been kicked out twice due to inactivity and persuaded them to reinstate me, but the next time I get that letter I won't bother :P

Re: The Two Towers MUD
I'm a beginning Ranger, Poinsettia, but don't have much time to do it, so I will probably not progress very fast.

I took a look, but I wasn't sure what exactly it was so I didn't join.

Re: The Two Towers MUD
I've been interested in finding out some more information about that game myself. I have never tried a MUD and was sorta leery about just jumping in without knowing what was going on. How is it played?

Re: The Two Towers MUD
It's quite easy when you get used to it. All the commands are typed, and the game is completely text-based, so there are no images. All the areas are richly described, though. You journey through Middle-earth, fighting battles, meeting new friends, and advancing to new levels. You can pick various professions such as wizard, ranger, warrior, sheriff, thief or assassin. You can be good or evil. To gain a higher level, you need to get experience by battling creatures. There are also guilds for higher level players and quests. (Wow, I just made it sound so good, I almost feel like playing again ) Go to www.angband.com to see the official site.

Re: The Two Towers MUD
I play T2T; I'm Rayna, a level 5 dunedain ranger who, alas, cannot access telnet except through her school computers and so is exiled from Arda until September After school starts, I'd be happy to help out anyone who wants to learn about the game. It's relatively true to the books and, while frustrating at first, is easy to learn.
