Whats the name of the river where...
Gollum's cousin found the ring?

This is when the FOTR comes in handy!
*looks at map* i think it's either the Brandywine or the Gulf of Lhun (i really can't do accents, sorry!) because Deagol (Gollums cousin) found the ring in the Shire, and those are the only rivers that run through the Shire. That help?

It was in the Gladden fields area, North of Lorien. The Gladen river come into the anduin from the Misty Mountains. In more ancient times there was a shallow lake at that confluence. In the Third age it was a marsh with multiple channels for both rivers.

It was clearly the Anduin. Isildur was swiming acros that river when he lost the ring.

Deagol and Smeagol lived in the Gladden Fields along Anduin, not the Shire. As far back as is rememberd, Hobbits originally lived in the Vales of Anduin before migrating West across the Misty Mountains. That is where it was lost and found.
Some Hobbits lived there until very recently before the War of the Ring.... its possible some still do. |
