Sin City
OH MY GODS! Who has seen this?
I went to see Sin City last night and it was BEAUTIFUL! VERY violent, VERY. This is the first and only time I will say this... mmmmmmmElijaWoodmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm He has no lines and I think that helps but YOW! Rosario Dawson in Fishnet Catsuit! This movie does not skimp on Nudity or Violence, but it is SO beautiful! Now I need to read the book.... What did you guys think?

The movie is a combination of all of the books apparently. I still need to read them.
I'm sorry you have a while to wait.

I enjoyed this movie, especially the stylized comic book feel (I think that was done VERY well), but it was way too hyped up and I was mildly disappointed as well.
Elijah Wood was so creepy...

If you can handle the gore...in one of the storylines (TYB, for you who have seen the movie or read the comic) there was some violence that made me squirm quite a bit (and made my male friends squirm even more). There's also a lot of nudity and every female character is either weak or a prostitute. ::shrug::
Please take note: I was expecting this when I was going into the theater and I'm not complaining, justm aking sure others have an idea of what the movie will be like.

Terrific movie. I haven't read Miller's original stories, though I'm familiar with his Batman work and I have some idea of what he's like stylistically. Sin City translated to film very well, especially because it was not forced into the traditional preconceptions of how filmic narrative is supposed to operate. See, this is the kind of thing that should have been done with even bigger-name comic book properties ages ago.

I've heard from friends that it is visually stunning, but that the story-line is about as flat as some supermodels.
I was looking forward to seeing this one... any dissenting remarks? |

It is very comic book, and when movies try to be comic books, comic books do it better. The story structure doesn't fit in a movie that well.
Still, it is BEAUTIFUL!
