Songs that could have been used in LOTR
Has anyone thought of songs that could be used in LOTR, either because it fits well or it is ironic.
Just to get things started: "The Trees" by RUSH "There is unrest in the forsest trouble with the trees" When I hear the first two lines of this song, I think of the storming of Isengard by the ents. The rest of the song is not bad in thinking of the ents rising up against Sauruman's oppression. I am sure that people may think other other songs that could be used in LOTR. I was not exactly sure which category this post should go, so if a moderator thinks this belongs elsewhere, please move. Sincerely, Anthony

Way down an alley
OMG, Rush. Now that's taking me back. "Closer to the Heart" and all that. Ahhh. Them were(n't) the days.
How about the armies of Gondor and Rohan, gathered on the two mounds at the Morannon, about to be slaughtered by the hordes of Mordor, singing: "Always look on the bright side of life"? cheers d. |

you could squeeze "flame trees" at the storming of isengard at a push
or at a bigger push the ringwraiths with "sell my soul " by Midnight oil - greatest thing to come out of Oz ( well after flying doctors and Bluey - now theres a man that could have walked into the part of aragorn !)

Im no expert but i try to keep my musical ear to the ground - old rockers can be fountains of wisdom ( or evidence of how to mature without any grace whatsoever )
Lets rock !

Boromir breaks into " poison arrow " by abc...." shoot that poison arrow through my heart .."
But if you know the lyrics to Epic by Faith no more, its got to be about Boromirs confusion over the ring "...its in your face but you cant grab it its alive, afraid, a lie,a sin Its magic, its tragic, its a loss, its a win its dark, its moist, its a bitter pain its sad it happened and its a shame you want it all but you cant have it..."
