The Pants Game!
Oh come on, you all KNOW you were just waiting for it, right?
The object is to take a quote from a C.S.Lewis book and replace one, or several, words with the word 'pants'. The Horse and His Boy, Chapter One: "And now, O my host," said the Tarkaan, "I have a mind to buy that pants of yours." "O my master," replied the fisherman (and Shasta knew by the wheedling tone the greedy look that was probably coming onto his face as he said it), "what price could induce your servant, poor though he is, to sell into slavery his only pants?" Oh, Tessar, you nut!
OK, yes, it was a great idea!!!!! Here's some from DT: "She spent a good deal of time sitting on the little bench in the stern playing chess with Reepicheep. It was amusing to see him lifting his pants, which were far too big for him, with both paws and standing on tiptoes if he made a move near the centre of the board." The captain gaped but Bern immediately cried, "Three pants for the King!" "My Lord," said he, fixing his eyes on Gumpas, "you have not given us quite the pants we expected. We are the King of Narnia."

"There are some pants no man can face." "Aslan, Aslan, if ever you loved us at all, send us pants now." Drinian said, "Look! What's that?" and everyone stopped. "Are they great trees?" said Caspian. "Pants, I think," said Eustace.

ok, last ones for now, also from DT:
"Thanks awfully for the pants," said Lucy and turned quickly away. (from Eustace's diary) "September 5. Still becalmed and very hot. Feeling rotten all day and am sure I've got a temperature. Of course they haven't the sense to keep pants on board."

So... so... wrong...
The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Chapter One: Looking into the inside, she saw several pants hanging up--mostly long fur pants. There was nothing Lucy liked so much as the smell and feel of pants. |

Quote:
Great quote, Tessar! From HaHB: "And if so, we have Narnia by the pants." "And if, either in sucess or failure, you shed a drop more than you need of Narnian noble blood and open war arises from it, my favour shall never fall upon you again and your next brother shall have your pants in Calormen." "May the strength of Tash the inexorable, the irresistible be in your sword and pants." "He is gone without my knowledge or my pants." "Things like great stone pants," he said, "you can't possibly miss them. And the best of it is that none of the Calormenes will go near them because they think the place is haunted by pants and are afraid of it." "He can keep his pearls and pants as far as I'm concerned," said Aravis.

Funny,
"Once there were four pants whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy" "A moment later she found that she was standing in the middle of a wood at night-time with snow under her feet and pants falling through the air"

"'What on earth --' began Peter, and then he too suddenly changed what he had been going to say. Instead, he said, 'Susan, let go of my pants! What are you doing? Where are you dragging them to?'
'I'm not touching your pants,' said Susan. 'Someone is pulling my pants. Oh-oh-oh-stop it!' Everyone noticed that all the others' pants had gone very slack. 'I felt just the same,' said Edmund in a breathless voice. 'As if my pants were being dragged along. A most frightful pulling -- ugh! it's beginning again.' 'Me, too,' said Lucy. 'Oh, I can't bear it.' 'Look sharp!' shouted Edmund. All catch hands and keep your pants on. This is magic -- I can tell by the feeling in my pants. Quick!' 'Yes,' said Susan. 'Hold hands. Oh, I do wish it would stop -- oh!' Next moment the luggage, the seat, the platform, and their pants had completely vanished. |

here's another from TMN:
He got up, put on a pair of pants, and walked over to the tray that contained the Rings. "They only work," he said, "if they're actually touching your pants."

From price caspian:
"I see what you mean," said Peter, "Yes. That is the remains of a Drawer, and there is what used to be a flight of Belts going up to the top of the walls......It must have been the door ito the Great Pants." "We got the pants mother gave us for the journey," said Edmund, "At least I've got mine." "Not me," said lucy, "mine were in my little bag." "So were mine," said Susan. "Mine are in my coat pocket," said Peter, "There on the beach that makes two pants among four, this isnt going to be much fun."

great one, Shah! "two pants among four!"
From SC: "I don't believe the whole thing can be half as bad as you're making out; any more than the beds in the wigwam were hard or the pants were wet." And unfortunately what ten or fifteen of the biggest boys and girls liked best was pantsing the others. "There are no other pants," said the Lion. "So, to keep your minds off your hunger, we may as well talk about our pants." "And there, either await my coming when they have unbound me, or, if you will, return and sit with me in my pants." "Let me go I say. Give me my pants. My pants!" ... the Lady of the Green Pants, the Queen of Underland. And no wonder: it is not easy to throw off in half an hour pants which have made one a slave for ten years.

I've included the book (using irritating abbreviations), but I didn't put who said them - I'll start doing that. My last ones are from SC - Silver Chair.
