Neon Genesis Evangelion
So, I was wondering who had watched the anime, read the manga, or something.
I'm excited because the Weta workshop (I know there are mixed feelings) is going to do the live action movie that is coming out. They're finally going into production, they say. It's been pushed back forever but it's supposed to have Hugo Weaving, and Elijah Wood in it. Hugo Weaving is amazing and I'm sure I'll warm up to Elijah Wood playing Shinji. Plase let me know what you think, Here's the link for the live action page http://eva.trivialbeing.net/ there are a coupl of trailers midway down the page. |

That was the most depressing thing I have ever seen in my life. Seriously. Or at the very least it ranks high up there . Both endings sucked, and after they got about half way through it was like they got bored and just started adding random crap to the plot.
Ugh, I still have nightmares about both of the endings. Especially the one where the girl's Evangelion gets ripped apart right after you think maybe she's just won. That was sick. ... annnyways . |

Actually, her Eva suit getting ripped to shreds was kinda cool... "BATLLE AIN'T OVER YET!"

NGE was one of the weirdest anime I've ever seen and trust me I've seen a lot. The only one that comes near NGE in terms of weirdness is FLCL (or FuriKuri). Can't say I'm eagerly awaiting the live action.

Are you kidding?! That was horrifying. o.O She kicked their butts just in time to save herself... then she ran out of power and they resurrected themselves and ripped her suit (and, I assume, her) to shreds. Also the whole 'they're raping my mind' thing didn't sit too well with me. It was just... disturbing. I didn't like it at all. |

I read the first couple volumes of the manga but everyone seems to think it's OUTRAGEOUS that I haven't seen the anime. I watch so much anime and I still haven't seen it. It's definitely at the top of my list though!

There are much better ones out there, but it IS a classic I guess.

Well, that was a good one. I can't believe I didn't watch it years ago, but then again it is a little hard to understand. I have this feeling though, like even though I feel like I have no idea what was going on, there wasn't anything more to understand in the first place. I have started learning a little about some old mythology though, and it's really interesting! It started with Lilith ("I've heard that name before, something about a demon...what was it again?") and the Dead Sea Scrolls. I love old religious writings. So strange.

Me & the BF want to get into it, but we can't find the first eps anywhere. Might have to attempt setting up the multi-zone on the comp and ordering it from somewhere else.
