The ROTK 5-Disc Platinum Series freebies (what to do, what to do...)
I'm not sure if more people will be buying the ROTK Platinum Series Special Extended Edition Collector's Gift Set (whew) compared to the TTT version that has a free Gollum figurine.
Any ideas of what to do with the freebies (serious, obvious, and otherwise)? Here are examples of what one might do: 1. Make a teeny tiny effigy of Denethor (works best if you have a microscope. oh, alright: a magnifying glass will do), stick it to the end of a needle, light it up, and re-enact his demise. 2. Move your face as close as possible to the Minas Tirith figurine and suddenly move back or make sweeping shots with your eyes (make believe you're PJ or Richard Taylor with the camera and do the accents as well) 3. Catch some mosquitos, stick them to a needle, and move them about the figurine: make believe they are fell beasts. 4. Place the figurine inside a fishbowl; move your hand above the figurine trying to make gnarled hand gestures. Pretend you're Saruman looking into a Palantir. 5. Make green slimey gelatin and pour it on the figurine. Pretend the grey (yeah, green, in this case) host has arrived from the Paths of the Dead. Sorry, i couldn't help thinking about it...

The freebies include... a globe of Arda, figurines of Wormtoungue, Bill Ferny, and the Watcher in the Pond, and a miniature orc scimitar cutlery set. Oh... or are they not coming out with yet another edition!! EDIT: Careful how you use the word 'free' there Arathorn. EDIT2: And for something on topic... 6. Insist on including the Gollum figure in a Warhammer game.

Of course not, Beardie my love (who has most of my pants from the past 2 yrs or so). You told me that detail back then. So I'm imagining a more PJ and Fran accent. But I still like listening to Richard. Cracks me up all the time! lol! And sorry, Nurvingiel, I meant the seemingly free figurine of Minas Tirith and DVD of Howard Shore... Maybe they ARE free and the box just doubles the cost of the whole bloody package... oh well.

Elvellon,
Platinum series is pretty much what New Line calls the Extended Edition series of LOTR sets (FOTR, TTT, ROTK). The more names, the more money they make, I guess. Heheheh. BoP, You are in a much closer position, (georgraphically, of course!) to do that with PJ's bum. My friends and I might take close-up pictures of our eyes surrrounding the Minas Tirith figure. More than one eye is on that little city...

LOL! I wouldn't buy it. I'll stick with the non-collectible EE. But look, here's a picture:

7. Get a bunch of tiny little elf action figures and pretend they're an army from Lothlorien there to save the day at Pelennor Fields! ("the elves are coming! the elves are coming!")

8. Go to a costume party as Minis Tirith, wearing the mini city as a hat.
And BoP, about your earlier comment... sideways...
