David Bowie
I just saw David Bowie in concert yesterday!!! It was the best concert I have ever seen in my entire life! I'm only 18 but I don't think that anyone will ever beat his performance! He was spectacular! Wonderful! Amazing! Dead sexy! Er....forget that last part...
He performed a lot of his older songs and a bunch off his new CD including: Fashion I'm Afraid of Americans China Girl Ziggy Stardust Life on Mars Cactus 5:15 The Angels Have Gone Slip Away Everyone Says Hi Heathen (The Rays) And more! So now I want your guys' opinions. Have you ever seen him in concert? If you did what were your opinions of the performance? What's your favorite song(s)? Favorite movie(s)? Anything David Bowie!!

I don't much like David Bowie's music, and I haven't seen him in concert, but he was awesome in "The Labrinth"!! One of the best movies in the world!!

I saw him several times back in the 70's. The Diamond Dogs tour, and the Young Americans tour. Seems like there was a third time, but I just can't place it! The sets were elaborate, and he was VERY cool, of course!

Favorite Bowie song is hard to say.
I LOVE the BASS in China girl. I like the ending part of Tumble and Twirl. Loving the Alien is cool along with Fashion. I like the chorus from 1984.

Hah. Everyone knows that his best album is Ziggy Stardust, followed closely by Hunky Dory. Has anyone heard his stuff from heathens?
And David Bowie in the Labyrinth.... Mmmmm!

Heathen is a great CD! It's supposedly his best CD since Scary Monster's (and Super Creeps) and it has recieved nothing but praise. It's worth the 12.99 it costs.
And BoP, if Ziggy Stardust was your favorite you should get the 30th aniversarry Limited Edition CD. It's only available at Bowie.net or at Virgin Megastores until october 31. It's a two-disc special with 12 new songs, a forty page booklet chronicling his career and never befoe seen pictures from his Ziggy era.

Do you have to belong to Bowie.net?
I've just dusted off the heathens CD to give it another go. The first few times I listened to it, it sounded too much like the Hours album. Of course, I've since realised that I've been completely wrong. This album seriously #@$%ing rocks!! I especially love Slow Burn, Everyone Says 'Hi', and his cover of Cactus... Ah, who am I kidding? All the songs are good! By the way, Rei, since you seem to be the David Bowie authority around here, could you tell me what the inspiration of the song TVC15 from the album "Station To Station" is? Or where I can look?

That's It!! Station to Station tour is the third tour I saw. Thank you for helping me remember BoP. Oh my TVC15!! Seems like this was right around the time "Man Who Fell to Earth" came out. I guess it was his first film?? I saw it twice with the glitter crowd, but honestly, I never did get those silly artsy /fartsy kind of movies!!

No, you don't have to belong to Bowie.net to get the CD you can get it at Virgin Megastores but I believe there is a huge difference in price so it's cheeper to get it online.
It's a good thing you gave that CD another chance, it's wonderful, much better than Hours. Cactus, Everyone Says Hi and 5:15 Angles Have Gone are my favorites but the whole CD is Great!! TVC15 was supposedly inspired by a drug-induced story Iggy Pop told Bowie - about how Iggy's girlfriend was swallowed by his TV set!

So that's why you won't let me play Rebel Rebel in the common room is it. Will keep this info for future yearbook reference my dear!!!! I love Bowie- mainly because my Dad does and I've grown up around it. I love Labyrinth- its one of my fave films and nearly up there with LOTR. My mate really likes Bowie too and sounds a lot like him when he sings but a bit more (how to put it nicely- no there's no way) gay! Bless him, he's a star though. Would love to see Bowie in concert but he doesn't come round here very often and when he does you need to move pretty fast. Mx
