Virus Alert 2
(the first being the Snow White Virus)
2 e-mails containing the virus were sent ot my Hotmail address, one yesterday, and the day before. I most likely will get another one today. The virus is a Trojan. The first e-mail: From : "Todd Hershberger"<thershberger@kc.rr.com> To : brainykal@hotmail.com Subject : 01Hershberger_sales Date : Sun, 22 Jul 2001 07:30:57 -0500 Attachment : 01Hershberger_sales.doc.lnk (218k) ============================================= Hi! How are you? I send you this file in order to have your advice See you later. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have not checked the file yet, so I do not know much information about it. The second e-mail was similar to the first: "Teresa Sterling"<tsterling9@home.com> To : brainykal@hotmail.com Subject : krykits life Date : Mon, 23 Jul 2001 18:15:58 -0600 Attachment : krykitslife.doc.bat (213k) ============================================= Hi! How are you? I send you this file in order to have your advice See you later. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This file is extremely large like the other one, which can only mean big trouble. The ".bat" file was written in ASCII. Soon, my friend Mark may get his hex editor and try to figure out where the virus targets. |

Re: Virus Alert 2
Always make sure you don't open any attachement from people you don't know and you won't have any problems.
An advantage of speaking french: when I receive messages in english, it's usually spam or virus. |

Friend of mine got hit up by that one, too.
(And he's a guy that sends me stuff that I need over e-mail... fortunately, the virus has a bug in it that stops it from working under NT/2K)
