Y2K: a "what if" thread
Now, you've all heard about the bug. Personally I think the net won't get effected too bad, or any electricity for that matter. But what if it does? Some of us only know each other from the net, and if all electricity goes out we may never see each other again. My plan is to unplug my computer from the 31st till the 2nd since I know there's gonna be a lot of viruses circulating then, but what about after that? Speculations? Fears? Cheeze Wiz?

Re: Y2K: a "what if" thread
Alhtough here in the United States, everything is Y2K compliant, things in other countries are not. Russia, China, and many other countres currently have several nuclear weapons, a Y2K error might cause some of them to launch. There are also many radical fundalmentalists from arabic nations who intend to take advantage of Y2K and cause great damage. So, Y2K isn't just hype.

I have to agree with Jae. The biggest threat will be from terrorists... it would be scary to have NY explode just as the ball comes down :P

Like I told you before, I would probably laugh for a short while.

Re: Y2K: a "what if" thread
I agree about the terrorist thing. I'm gonna be downtown at a mural for work at new years, and we all refused to be there at midnight. We don't want to go sky high. But what do you think, will we ever see each other again?

Re: Y2K: a "what if" thread
I think that was a little bit off topic.
