"Instant" Poetry (writing exercise)
The idea behind this is to write a poem in this thread, off the top of your head, whatever comes out of your mind .. just let it flow. I think this is a fun exercise that works your creativity and imagination. So I'll start it off...
an uncertain path cluttered by delusions a deep void fills the immolation of a plastic soul each drop signifying a tangible loss faint to memories pasts the mold is reborn different yet the same a new jounrey has begun to reestablish his becoming... |

oh cool! i like this!
my naivity is shattered like so much glass in the mirror that was you. i can try to pick up the pieces, but my cuts will never fully heal. there will always be cracks, unforgiving, as i stare at your distorted image.

Whee! This sounds fun. Hmmm...
I cannot say what time will tell When all have heard the ringing bell That calls them to their endless grave, For many a smiling foolish knave Appears to be a greater man Than any such a person can Be called, and so what one can say If when we reach that farthest day The outside or the inside will Be that that's thought to people fill. Is it the inside, which is made To never fail and never fade, Or is it outside, which mankind Has transformed from an outer rind Into the slate wherein we write What we would show, both day and night? I do not know, but I do hope That with both sides we all must cope.

maybe three minutes thanks. I rhyme too much for my own good in real life, so it is good it has an outlet of some sort.

I love PB&Js, yes I do,
That lovely swirl of peanut goo, the ruddy red of strawberry jam, I like it much better than veel or ham! Oh how to describe that very first bite? Like heaven above, like ice cream with... ice, I fear that didn't rhyme, but the point I make to you, is that I love PB&Js, and you should too! |

The day's so long, with many turns,
the morning started bright. Did this...did that...did all the things, yet the ending just went splat.

Ants in your pants, ants in your pants,
Gimme your pants, don't make me pant, Cos I then I'll rant... About how much I want YOUR PANTS! It's a lovely song I wrote at another site in less than a minute. You like?

Veal is one thing, but I meant veel. Two different meats entirely.
Oh, and L337 = Leet. Which means 'elite'. Sk33l2= skills. I'm saying that her skills at poetry are very skillful and elite. . I only use 'leet' speak when I'm being silly, such as now . Last edited by Tessar : 07-30-2004 at 01:19 AM. |

BoP remains skeptical as ever
of Tessars attempt at being clever. She demands his puny... pants or else she'll make him recant!

Here goes another one, this was based on a bad drug experience...
perched on a stool like a stoic statue oblivious to everything trapped in a daze a failed attempt to escape from reality has left me tampering with my own mortality lifeless yet breathing the chemical toxins seethe through my vains like tranquil poison my body numbs the scenery blurred the voices echo as I am falling again... |

How's this:
They do not fear the sleet and snow Wirling winds and horrid foe Nor the evil that lurks every way: If they loose gaurd, they will pay. Into battle they will go And there will be much sorrow and woe And if the enemy be up ahead He shall surely loose his head. The sound of victory they will cry Before dawn is almost nigh. And if a foe say nay or something of that kind He has clearly lost his mind. At the dawn of that day Amoungst the ruin and decay They will make themselves some pies When they are soon organized.

Well, I also happen to think, my dear Hanza,
That it is quite hard to write in the stanza, but never-mind the difficulty of writing in rhyme, As I fear I have run out of time!

Here goes another one....
when I look in the mirror I question what I see a faceless man within the shards of shattered dreams my blackened heart long bereft of warmth is scarring deeper still emotionless and fragile this unresolved conflict an indifference of languor digresses through my mind slowly I place the mask back on to my face reality and clarity now rendered a silent scream from within Today I killed my Ego... I think rhyme in poems is always good to have, but sometmes I like free verse better because rhyme forces you to use certain words. |

Ever elusive, I have no time
even when searching for a proper rhyme. The days speed by like a banana Looking for a beach cabanna. Meanwhile I shall onward seek A word to rhyme this word I speak: "Orange"
