My belief is that, God created the world, and God is Good; therefore, if Good did not exist, than nothing would, including Evil.

Ying Yang. Hot Cold. Wet Dry. In Out. You cant have one without the other to define it. Its like someone once said: "If everything was green, there would be no green."
Or its like Merlin once said: "Good and evil; there is never one without the other. " Its up to you to figure out just where in your kingdom it lies.....

What IR said. Good has no meaning if there's no Evil.

I disagree, but then again, that is diametrically opposed to my religion, so that's natural.

This is all under the assumption that good and evil exist, right?

What's with all the "if"! My perception of the world must relate to me. Something pleases me or it doesn't. If it pleases me, (and I like myself ), it is good! I don't think I need "good" to see evil, or vice versa. Maybe I don't get this question! We are constantly faced with choices, how could they all be "not" good or evil? Our perception of good and evil is always there. They cannot "not" exist. I feel like a block of concrete here, I think I need a cider!

If you replace "perception of good and evil" with "Good and Evil" I agree pretty much with you. Though little bicycle boys for married moms is good...?

For the record! I was not a married mom, I was a 27 year old single "swing babe". The bicycle boy was 17, and a singer in a local punk band. ( The Zero Boys) He was a "non comformist" no job, no school, no car, you get the picture?

Well, how do you define good and evil?
I think of good as anything that is constructive and pushes more toward the better survival. Evil would be more destructive and less survival. People have different perceptions of what is more survival and less. One could be doing something which he thinks is constructive but others may view him as being destructive and therefore "evil". I think most all of mankind basically wants to be good and work toward the survival of this world.

I disagree with you there. I view mankind as tending more towards evil than towards good, though of course with good tendencies as well; just evil tendencies stronger than good. If there was no such thing as self-control, and we all just did whatever we wanted to, whatever would please us the most, the world would not be a happy place.
I define good and evil differently, but my definition is a bit complicated, and I don't really have the time (or will) to go into it right now.

Well, they're both cultural constructs, aren't they? I've got a serious case of deja vu here, but I'll say it again: it's all relative.
