Are they any good? I checked one out of the library once, but by the time I got around to starting it, it was already overdue. Are they worth checking out again and reading???

I read the first one, but did not feel compelled to read further.

SoT is an excellent series, in my top 10 (although not as high as LotR )
In fact, I spend most of my life at the official site The forum is really good!!! Full of insanity

I asked for the series for Christmas, but if I don't get it I plan to go buy it. I'm almost done with Wheel of Time, and I need another endless fantasy saga......

Cee2lee2 got further than I did. Halfway through the first book I put it down. It wasn't the story but the writing that I didn't like.

Mmmm. I read the first chapter of the first book. I don't remember why I stopped. Either time or another book, I expect. Should I give it another try, sometime soon?

My brother read the book in two days. All 800 and some pages. He said that the writing was horrible and the story was kind of weird. I'll read it anyway, my brother is rather picky.

Well I just checked out the first one from the library, and it was great! I would definately reccomend reading it! I was impossible to put down from start to finish, and I can't wait to read the next one!

I am reading the second book in the series now, Stone of Tears. The first book was great so I hope the rest are good too. Also, I thought my post in this thread was funny because I sound so young and different. You wouldn't catch me saying fantasy "isn't my thing" these days...

I have read them all except for the last one, which is now out in paperback. I'll buy it soon and finish the series. Eventually, I will read them all again. Peace and goodwill.
