I actually liked this movie. Your pan reflects little at what the movie was trying to portray and missed the mark totally. Everyone should give this a watch when it comes out on DVD/VHS and decide for themselves instead of taking garbage like this review's advice.

How interesting that I just got done downloading some music from We Were Soldiers. I downloaded "Sgt. Mackenzie" which is the song with the dude singing in Scottish/English while the helicopters are landing and taking off. Rather interesting. I liked the movie. It was much better than Pearl Harbor, but that's not saying much. No matter what IronParrot's review says, I enjoyed it.

What I'd like to know is what you liked about it, if you'd care to elaborate.

I'll be glad to tell you, as soon as I see it. Don't follow the movies much and never knew it had been released, although I'd heard Gibson was making it, and that General Moore was working with him (or vice versa). It sounded very interesting. Guess I'll have to look for the DVD/tape.
The trouble with anything having to do with Vietnam is that everybody goes insane as soon as the word is mentioned, and you can't get anything straight. What's the line in the old U2 song, something about black and white but others see red? Well, anyway, here's another question for those who saw it: how closely does it jive with the original? In visiting that site briefly this morning to check the URL, I see that there is much movie information available -- will have to check that out over the weekend.
