Who here thinks that they should get Loreena Mckennitt...

to do some music for the third film? She hasn't been in FOTR or TTT but they used new artists for TTT and I think loreena mckennitt would be a very good choic for some theme or another... A bit different then most of the music used so far but I think she can be very middle-earthish.... maybe elvish... although their style of elvish music is a bit different. I think it would be nice if they got loreena mckennitt for SOMETHING!

I'm a fan of Loreena McKennitt, and I think her music definitely suits the "Middle Earth mood". It does feel "Elvish" in my opinion too, Sminty.

me! me! i think they should get Loreena Mckennit! yes! she would be really good. i think, in fact, that they should get her to do a song for the end, at the Grey Havens. um. i think her style and music would be very fitting for that part. er. *grins*

proof for this? how do you know they aren't?

i think they are--they'd better, eh?--because i read an interview a long time ago with PJ and they asked him what his favorite part was and he said it was at the end, at the grey havens. i don't really see how they couldn't have that part, though maybe i could considering what they've done already. <sigh> not good.

yeah, Loreena McKennitt would be great for LotR. I love Ancient Pines. Oh, and The Lady of Shalott, too. Which reminds me...I think I'll put my Waterhouse avatar back up after the holidays...

If I remember correctly, they actually asked Loreena McKennitt and she said no. Which is really too bad. I adore her music.

I personally like Sheila Chandra... but you're right, she certainly doesn't have a particularly Middle-earthish sound. We'll see. After all, I think Enya did a great job with "Aniron"... although I can't express how sick I am of "May it Be".

That is too bad! Why would someone say no to an offer like that? I guess she's not a fan of LotR or something.

You mean you like Sheila Chandra better than Enya, or do you mean you like Loreena McKennitt better than Sheila Chandra.

They use Loreena McKennitt in Mists of Avalon. You probably know that.

I hope she agrees to sing in the last one. And I hope the song is good enough to be nominated for an Oscar. But I think Shore isn't that interested in having other composers contribute. Singers can sing, but I suspect he doesn't want them composing.

Just 6 days till the soundtrack release, right? I can't wait!

Actually, I was just saying that I like Sheila Chandra in general and that she wouldn't be such a bad choice for the soundtrack. I haven't heard enough of her music to compare her to the other two.
