Which demons must you live with... ?
John Cleese, talking about his reform from drugs and alcohol abuse once said (paraphrasing, I can't find the exact quote) "Thanks to my friends, I've managed to get rid of a lot of my demons, but now I'm not funny any more"
He was talking about how the demons that he lived with made him the funny man that people expected him to be, and that without them...he didn't recognize himself any more. Sad...really. So.. Which demons do you live with which you can't get rid of and still expect to be 'You'? Which demons do you plan on getting rid of before you can feel like 'You' again? |

After years of ice-cold hardness and emptiness, I am now too sensitive and tend to share my feelings too easily and frequently. I think it will bite me in the ass in the future but it feels right, right now.

I smoke...cigs, that is.
I know that my SO doesn't like me smoking. I know that its not good for me, that's its becomming very VERY taboo to smoke. I also know that when I try to quit smoking, I become a right bastard, and not a very nice person to be around. So, I'm keeping this daemon until I can figure out a place to hide away from loved ones until the nasties from quitting are over. |

..gee I've exorcised the bad demons, socialize with the good ones, and generally try to look on the plus side of life. Doom and Gloom isn't my thing.

Depression. Despair. Self-ridicule. Urge for the drugs I used to do. Writer's block. Nightmares. Lethargy. Fury. and my boyfriend.

we all have our demons.. some more, some less. but what, and where, would we be without them? some of them have their origin in the choices we make, some of them seem to just be there. but there is nothing to be done about the past - what we can try to do, is make the best of what we have, hopefully while being supported by close friends. True that, true that. But once in a while it feels better to bitch about them a bit...
