John Kennedy Toole
Hey! I'm just reading THE NEON BIBLE written by John Kennedy Toole.
I just love that book and would like to know if anybody out there has read it too. Or maybe his other book A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES. I'm very impressed with the first book and although it is in english (not my first language) I'm able to understand almost everything.

confederacy of dunces is the funniest book I have ever read. It is very different from the neon bible. I say go for it you will not be let down.

the humor is a little sophisticated, but it is plainly written.

Soon I'll be ready with the Neon Bible. It's that sad. I once saw a movie, but I didn't see the end. I'm really excited to read how it ends.

Unfortunately not, I think I'll get it for my birthday in April. I still have some books in my shelf which I should read first, eg LOTR in english.

Hmmm, let me think! As I don't think you're asking what is LOTR is about you are interested in the books of John Kennedy Toole.
I've only read The Neon Bible and it is just such a good piece of writing that I'm really in love with this book. It is about a boy, who grows up in a house with his mother and his aunt and his father. His aunt is a little strange and after some time his father has to go to war. He doesn't come back and this is the reason why his mother becomes insane. It's alltogether difficult to explain, and if you read this short summary you'll think that this book is boring (just what I thought when I read a short summary), but it is really good and interesting and you'll have a good time reading it.
