Favorite Quotes
Not neccessarily from LOTR, but from anywhere.
Some of my favorites are: "Gravity cannot be held responsible for people falling in love" "There are only two things that are infinite--the universe, and human stupidity...and I'm not sure about the first one" --both by Albert Einstein "Comedy equals trajedy plus time" "Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield" "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups" "There are three types of people--those who see, those who see when they are shown, and those who do not see" --Leonardo Da Vinci "Why can't everyone just get along? There'd be a lot less notes!" --Usually rather idiotic member of my history class "But...blue is wrong for roses!" --From The Glass Menagerie. Ok, so it doesn't mean anything out of context, but it's my favorite line! "Whatever they offer you, DON'T FEED THE PLANTS!!" --From Little Shop of Horrors "People will believe what you tell them, either because they hope it is true, or because they are afraid it might be." --From Wizard's First Rule "Heaven will not a heaven be, unless my cat is there with me" "Some people fly through your life like butterflies. Some people are fellow travelers, who stay for a while, but leave when the plane lands at the next stop. And some people move into your home and set up camp." |

Re: Favorite Quotes
Most of my favourites are from Tolkien. Including:
The Lord of the Rings, page 73: He deserves death. Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be to eager to deal out death in judgment. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. It seems to be a good rule to live by |

I especially like the Gun-Control quote sections. Oh, and Despair, Inc (www.despair.com/) is also great. They are arguably the source for that "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups"... www.despair.com/idiocy.html |

Some of my favorite quotes:
Far too noisy, my dear Mozart. Far too many notes. --Emeperor Ferinand after 1st performance of The Marriage of Figaro. Animals, which move, have limbs and muscles. The earth does not have limbs and muscles; therefore it does not move. --Scipio Chiaramonti I accept the theory of relativity as little as I can accept the existence of atoms and other such dogmas. --Ernst Mach (1838-1916), professor of physics at University of Vienna. The energy produced by the breaking down of the atom is a very poor kind of thing. Anyone who expects a source of power from the transformation of these atoms is talking moonshine. --Ernest Rutherford (1871-1937) after he had split the atom for the first time. And a favorite... They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist... --The last words of General John Sedgwick spoken while looking over the paraplet at enemy lines during Battle of Spotsylvania (1864) And another one which isn't great in words but makes you really think: The true test of a person's character is how they behave when nobody's watching them. And another good one for me, I'm not sure who said it... Adventure is a sign of bad planning. |

Re: Favorite Quotes
This one is current my favorite because it describes me very well:
"I let the days go by while Ï'm still young I dream my days away" Other favorites are: "Get busy living or get busy dying" "I rather be happy now than in 25 years" |
