I ran a quick search and didn't find anything like this, so it should be ok.
The Evil Dead is an extremely gory horror movie. I like it. The Fly starring Jeff Goldblum is also very good. For some classic horror, try The Birds or Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock or maybe Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman or the original version of The Mummy.

Yep, have to add Nosferatu to that list. Also try the original "Ring" rather than the US remake.

The Shining is the best horror movie ever, in my opinion.
Or Child's Play. That made me laugh. |

It?! Are we thinking of the same movie here?? That was lame. Not much of a fan of Chucky either. Watched him when I was 11. I found McGuyver to be more scary.

I think one of the best made old-time horror movies is White Zombie.
Uh, Spaceballs, coney? Psycho's been mentioned, then there's always Halloween (first one), A Nightmare on Elm Street (first one), etc. Aw, I liked It! It wasn't necessarily "horrifying," though. |

Well, if it counts, Alien and Aliens. I liked Alien more.
BoP, did you mean the old silent Nosferatu? I liked that a good deal. Also, Jack Pallance did a pretty good Dracula. Dracula 2000 was pretty good (IMO, at least) , though a bit racy for my tastes. In case you can't tell, I like Vampires.

Don't know if they're "horror"
But, I like them, anyway:
13 Ghosts; Ghosts of Mars Eh. There are better movies.

Dog Soldiers. Very gory, snappy, tongue in cheek, ace. There is no spoon!
