I think people should also put the books they want to read next too.
Read: Silmarillion: 1 The Hobbit: 2 Lord of the Rings: (almost done) 4 Farmer Giles of Ham and the Adventures of Tom Bombadil: (almost done) 1 All other Tolkien books: 0... unfortunately Next on my list after the above are completed... Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and the Unfinished Tales.

The Hobbit - not sure, I can't recall The Sil - únótima LotR - errr... hmmm... maybe... about 5 times or so, maybe more. UT - about 3 times BoLT1 - once BoLT2 - once Morgoth's Ring (HoME-X) - twice WotJ (HoME-XI) - once PoME (HoME-XII) - once I don't think I'd like to read the other HoME books if I can get my hands on them cheap... but I think I'm just going to have to wait a while longer. |

It's really pretty hard to say how many times I've read things, because after you read them a few times, you can just pick them up and read a favorite section or two ... at least, I do it that way. But I think it's about time of a cover-to-cover read of LOTR again.
Ruinel, I highly recommend HOME 3 - the Lays of Beleriand. I am NOT a poetry person, but I fell in love with this one.

and to tempt you, Ru, a certain person of whom you're very fond is mentioned quite a bit ....
The odd little passage where Felagund and Beren went, calling themselves Nereb and Dungalef (looks closely at those names ![]() Quote:

Wow, I'm way behind...
The Hobbit - twice LOTR - twice Silmarillion - twice I've skipped around a bit in Unfinished Tales, The Book of Lost Tales, and others, but I've never read through them.
