What is your favorite Video Game(s)?

Of all I've played, I like System Shock 2 the best...it is the only game that I actually was terrified!!! This PC game can be purchased real cheap these days as it was not a big seller(even though it was named "Game of the Year" by many gaming mags)!
There are many others I also enjoyed, but it was the best...so far!

I honestly don't remember..it's been 2 years or more since I played it. I did beat the Black Omen part, though! My favorite parts of the game were saving the girls mother(where you go back in time to alter events, so she does not get hurt in the machine), and where you leave the robot in the past to plant the field!

Square was tops at making these types of games...there was another one involving time travel where a boy and his dog go to other times and places. The cool part of this one was the dog would change its form depending on what era they were in!

First I'll state that I prefer games that blend good stories with great game play.

If you like adventure games, try Sanitarium and The Longest Journey. Both have great writing and characters.

If you like RPGs or FPSes, play System Shock 2 and definitely play Deus Ex. They're by the same outfit that did the Thief series, but they're more exciting and (in my opinion) have better stories.

Finally, if flat-out action is your thing, you can't beat Max Payne. It wraps Matrix-style "bullet time" gun fights inside a mean noir revenge tale … solid.

…Sorry, I should have clarified. They're all PC games. I'm not sure how many of them (if any) exist as console ports.

I like Max Payne...but! I was disappointed with the graphics...mainly because I had seen a preview(sort of) on a video card test program called 3DMark2001...and it looked awesome...then the game came out and did not live up to these expectations!

My interest in a particular game usually fizzles out in 3 months. Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings is 2 years and counting.

I still remember those days long ago when I was co-head of RTSNation.com and reviewed Age of Kings. Ah...those were the days.
