do you think they ever really landed on the MOON?
Some people think that the whole "One step for man" thing and all the landing on the moon was faked, has anyone heard these theories? What do you think?

Yeah, I've heard of those rumors - not much to 'em, I think. I'm guessing we have been to the moon, or else we're just really behind in technology.

Well, I certainly don't believe that the moon landings were a hoax.....there is no way that anyone would even try to contemplate getting away with that kind of lie.....besides winning the space race was a very important concept for a lot of people during the cold war.
I do, however, believe that NASA did 'fake' a few photoshots for publicity reasons (and who can blame them if they did?....every newspaper and magazine in the world were screaming for photographs).....unfortunately those few faked shots have given rise to this whole "the whole moon landing was staged" conspiracy theory |

A friend of mine was insisting that the whole thing was a hoax. she said the light/shadows on the photographs were unnatural and artificial. I dunno if they would have taken a whole set of stagelights up there or what, but I mean, it seems very possible that they would want proper lighting on things that would be broadcasted naturally, right? I don't know about natural light on the moon tho... as in, how visible it would be...

Anyway - the moon landing happened. I don't believe in the conspiracy theories.

There are sites that specifically debunk the conspiracy theorists. I don't believe in such theories.

While I certainly don't believe in conspiracy theories, I feel compelled to point out that there are also sites that prove that LOTR is a Satanic work.

I remember it too (now we REALLY ARE old). Terrible picture quality. If they'd faked it, I think they'd have had much higher production values.
My conspiracy theory is that all these conspiracy theories are put about to stop us from realising that the world is being run by a coterie of gnomes from Atlantis. |

Ah, my great-gran never believed men had landed on the moon. My sister who was really into space and astronomy then had quite a few debates to convince her. Useless of course.
Personally I think the landing on the moon was real. But I once heard (warning: it comes from a shaky source) that some high officials in America were planning to fake it if the real mission failed. It just strikes me as odd that some one would really want to fake it. But I suppose it was a prestige thing then.

I knew Dr Bob Seamans, the man in charge of engineering for NASA from 1960 until 1968. He grew up in our church and knew my wife’s family well. We had many conversations, and got to know – and like – one another. He was a brilliant man, as a scientist, an engineer, and as a manager. He was also a devout Christian, and one of the kindest, most humble men I have ever met. His humility was most remarkable thing about him: that a man so gifted, so well-connected, so accomplished could kneel down to speak face-to-face with my daughter when she was a small child in terms she could understand, and for that moment, she was all that mattered to him.
I grew up near Huntsville, where they built and tested the Saturn V first stage engines, and Tullahoma, where they built and tested the second and third stage engines. As a small child, I once saw a test of the F1 engines that launched Apollo. With satellite telescopes, we can see the landing sites on the moon. The Apollo astronauts placed three reflectors on the moon; the Russians left two using robot landers: because they are reflectors, they still work, and astronomers still use them. I have no doubt that men walked on the moon. |
